Service Crew
Hinton & Sammon aka Service Crew announced their arrival on the bassline scene with the organ fuelled remix of Sorry Part 2 (Missing You) by Denzee of Monsta Boy "I'm Sorry" fame. Its release on GRIDLOCKED RECORDS was a huge success which really put the SERVICE CREW name on the map. Their high quality productions and songwriting ability led to more interest from key bassline label ECKO RECORDS who asked them to record with vocalist JENNIFER JONES. The tracks recorded instantly attracted the attention of MINISTRY OF SOUND who wasted no time in signing the boys under their 2 TYME artist name with the first single "MISSING YOU" by 2 TYME featuring JENNIFER JONES set for a late Summer release.
SERVICE CREW's popularity has continued to grow with the help and support of some of bassline's main players including DJ DANNY BOND (the biggest Bassline DJ in the North who has included 6 of their productions in the final volumes of his signature CD series), SEAN COY, SIRRELL & TOLE and PHATFINGERZ. Through the ECKO connection many of the biggest Midlands DJS including DAVEY BOY, JOE HUNT, DANNY WYNN and WILL SMITH are also on board not only playing SERVICE CREW's tracks but delivering remixes too.
Birmingham label ECKO have been hugely instrumental in the HINTON/SAMMON success and have now teamed them up with their biggest artist KATIE MAY (AATW) to write and produce tracks for future single and album release. Made Men ft Dorzi & Katie May The song JEALOUS GIRL featuring M.C. Dorzi & Katie May began as an idea after Hinton and Sammon spotted Dorzi on a Channel Four documentary about knife crime and gang culture in the UK. Dorzi illustrated that you can leave that life behind and has been pursuing a career in music as an M.C. His talent and charisma were obvious and Hinton and Sammon tracked him down after the show. His unique delivery style and Northern humour amongst the Grime lyrics lent themselves perfectly to the project SERVICE CREW had in mind and once KATIE MAY had delivered the vocal hook the result was JEALOUS GIRL by MADE MEN featuring DORZI & KATIE MAY. Two more songs have been written - SMOOTH OPERATOR and HIGH MAINTENANCE, the latter also featuring the vocals of KATIE MAY.
